This is a letter requesting information for President George Washington's address to Congress. Hamilton seeks material on the expeditions against the Indians and specifically requests items describing "Every pacific measure" that was tried to produce an accommodation and avoid expense. Hamilton also asks for information on the "More pointed laws with penalties to rest[r]ain our own people."
