The letters pertained to the Hutchinson Letters Affair, which involved letters urging the British government to send additional troops to Boston to fight the rebels. They were published in June, 1773.

Notes that Linton's funds are in Leverich's hands, and he should let her have them if she needs them. Writes, "Tell your abolition friends, that they need not trouble themselves on the subject of slavery God will put an end to it, in his own good time."
