He predicts that New Orleans will be retaken. Describes the weather as sultry with the thermometer at 91 degrees.

He writes that it was later discovered that three prisoners escaped and that one used a rope made out of their bedclothes. Received their letter yesterday. There is a regular, "monotonous" rhythm to life at the hospital. Writes, reads, sleeps, and does little else. Goes into Worcester 2 or 3 times a week.
