Details distribution of the prize monies from the privateer ship the Pilgrim. Many notes added in 1806-1807 certifying money was received by various sailors from the estate of the deceased Lovett. Most signed by Elizabeth Lovett, his wife. Lovett was a privateer ship merchant and captain in Beverly, Massachusetts. He served as the agent for the prizes captured by the Pilgrim. Revokes the earlier privateer commission given to Barzilla Smith by Hancock as President of the Congress of the United States because Smith did not conduct himself and his crew according to the terms of the bond. The commission stated that Smith would have to make reparations of $5,000 for any damage caused by the misconduct of himself or his crew (see GLC01450.014.02). Powell informs Waite of the General Court decision to undertake the Penobscot Expedition. Orders were issued to detach 1500 men from the militia of Massachusetts, 100 artillery men, and a number of vessels to Penobscot Bay to dislodge the British stationed there. Reports that orders were given for provisions, ammunition, and firearms to be sent. The council also requested the assistance of the state of New Hampshire.
