This document contains three seperate letters written to Jacob Bailey. The first is a letter from Robert and Maley Bayley to their son informing him of their troubles, including the loss of their cattle and their subsequent inability to pay for bread until the corn crop becomes ready to sell. The second letter is from John Bayley to his brother Bailey inquiring about his health and asking Jacob Bailey to write to him. Bailey feels guilty for being away from his family when they are experiencing such trying financial circumstances, but also states that if he were to return home he would feel guilty for abandoning his fellow soldiers. The bottom of the page appears to have been cut, resulting in content loss.
