Muster roll for of Captain Lemuel Clap's company in the Massachusetts Guard. Lists name, rank, and enlistment date of men in the regiment. Almost all the men enlisted 11 August, though some later. A third of the men in the company are named Clap. Andrew Brown signs as Commishioner of Musters. Captain Lemuel Clap and Lieutenant Aaron Bird swear to the document by signing. Signed before John Avery, who signs as justice of the peace. Also a list by rank of the number of men present and absent. Written in Dorchester, a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.

Letter written by Major Bloomfield to Colonel Dayton. Begins by saying this is the first time he has been able to write since he was wounded at the Battle of Brandywine in September 1777. Says he lost so much blood that he could not ride to Chester and had to cross the Delaware River at Marcus Hook to avoid being captured. Reports that his wound was not dressed until 52 hours after he received it and that it bled for 23 of those hours. Says wound became inflamed, which caused a violent fever that lasted two weeks. Sweetly expresses her desire to be reunited with him after his six months of service. Discusses making clothes for him. A letter from Rebekah's sister, Elizabeth Wilder, appears on the verso. She reminds William of how much he is missed and loved. Also, comments: "we hear that their is no want for female soldiers in the camp[.] Beware of the Bed Blankit disorder."
