Hutchins can not be there in person because he is "confined by a touch of the Gout." Hutchins awaits the surveys and remarks of Winthrop Sargent, Secretary of the Ohio Company and the Northwest Territory. Written in the third person and signed in the text, possibly by a secretary.

The fifth, sixth, and seventh articles of the Treaty of Ghent pertained to the establishment of various parts of the boundary between the United States and Canada. Van Ness was the commissioner for the section of the boundary outlined in article five and Peter B. Porter was the commissioner for the section outlined in articles six and seven. The report ends with a printed letter from Van Ness to Secretary of State John Quincy Adams regarding the execution of article five.

Copy of a declaration including a letter in the report of the Select Committee investigating the expenditures made in the execution of the part of the Treaty of Ghent fixing the boundary line between Maine and Canada. The letter, written by Charles Turner, was critical of the execution of the treaty (see GLC05634.03). Also resolves "That the Select Committee be discharged from further considering the said report."
