Mifflin, President of Congress, encloses an Act of Congress directing Knox to ascertain from the British Commander in Chief of North America precisely when the British will leave their posts within the boundaries of the United States (possibly refers to Frederick Haldimand; see GLC02437.03019). Writes, "sorry I am that your confounded senators & congress are so narrow minded, as to make no provision for their foreign consuls for I hear that they do not I am materialy [sic] interested in your Brother William's fate."
