One copy of a letter published by Ben Whitehurst to Franklin D. Roosevelt. The letter was published in a book "Dear Mr. President" which compiled letters sent to the White House. The book was published in 1937. Frank White copied this letter from the book and sent it to L. Jean White with his December 29, 1944 letter. The letter itself concerns a person who received a thousand dollar check for not raising hogs, and the author is asking for advice on how to get in the market for a non-hog-raising supplement of his own.

Davis tells General Bragg that he is glad Bragg's threat of force against the Georgia State Railroad to forward arms and ammunition did not need to be carried out. Notes that the Georgia Governor Joseph E. Brown, who had complained about Bragg's plan to seize the railroad, contended that he was doing all he could to help. Advises Bragg to ask for aid from the governor in the future, in fulfillment of his view that "Any conflict between Confederate and State authorities...should always be avoided if possible." Replies to a question posed by Major General Lewis (possibly Joseph Horace Lewis), stating "we would receive your Regt with this Column with pleasure if it were offered and armed." Instructs Churchill to place three new guns (which were, according to Lewis, in the Cumberland Gap) at General Felix Kirk Zollicoffer's disposal. Discusses the acquisition of guns and horses for Zollicoffer's reinforcement.

Financial document signed by Seymour as a member of the Pay Table Committee in Connecticut. The committee was responsible for the finances of Connecticut during the Revolution. To Connecticut Treasurer John Lawrence. Document says to pay the Selectmen of Preston, Connecticut 10 pounds, 6 shillings for three guns and supplies for Captain Jewitt's company. On verso is a document signed by William Belcher that he received the money. Another document signed on verso, signed by Elijah Pitkin, says the payment was audited on 1 September 1777.
