There is also an article concerning a Captain Baylis of the Keziah who was arrested and faces forty years in jail for transporting five escaped enslaved people on his ship. The newspaper also contains advertisements and notices of meetings.

There are also mentions of the anniversary of President Washington's Birthday, and the text of the proclamation given by President Lincoln to celebrate Washington's birth. On the last page of the newspaper there is an article concerning Nathaniel Gordon's accused crime of international slave trade and his execution.

One certificate from William Ritchie dated Frederick County Court, May 7, 1807 addressed to the State of Maryland. Grants freedom to a formerly enslaved woman Jenny Maynard. States that this was drafted by Henry Maynard who granted her manumission per a supplemental act. Also describes Maynard's physical characteristics. Document was drafted and signed by Frederick County Court clerk, William Ritchie.
