Remarks that he does not wish to lessen support for causes at home but believes that "America should also make some sacrifices for the brave people of Finland, who are making such an heroic stand against the forces of primitive savagery."

Title: Monumental Inscriptions!

Depicts 6 fictitious funeral monuments, each to a militiamen executed by Jackson on 21 February 1815, after the Battle of New Orleans, for being deserters. The tombstones bear inscriptions detailing how each was a good man and soldier, and regardless of this, was "By the Orders of General Andrew Jackson, Shot to Death." Each monument was supposedly erected on 4 July, 1828. One monument reminds the reader "Let not the splendor of Military renown Blot out from your indignant recollection this bloody deed DONE BY A HERO." Title: Proclamation by Andrew Jackson, President of the United States.

Proclamation attacks the South Carolina Convention that passed the nullification ordinance. Denounces nullification as treason and rebellion, and warns the people of South Carolina to obey the laws. Jackson declares that "the power to annul a law of the United States, assume [sic] by one State, INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE EXISTENCE OF THE UNION ... INCONSISTENT WITH EVERY PRINCIPLE ON WHICH IT WAS FOUNDED AND DESTRUCTIVE ... " Warns that South Carolina cannot stand alone and that seceding from the Union would be a detriment to the state.

Says they were brought from Anthony Baine's property, which he thinks is 28 or 30 miles away. Verso has note signed by James Smith that Dubell returned three of the company's servants that ran away on 24 July 1786. The names of the servants were Patrick Ready, James Bryan, and David Lyon. Written on Executive Mansion stationery. According to Basler (5: 256), Chase opposed Lane's nomination, and Lincoln did not send it to Congress until January 1863.
