Ronaldson-Binney's first typeface was the first typeface designed in America and became the basis for "Monticello" the font used for printing the modern edition of the Papers of Thomas Jefferson.

Marked as a forgery of a note from President Washington to the cashier of the office of discount and deposit in Baltimore, Maryland. Instructs the cashier to pay [N. S.] Ridgely $230.50. Includes a facsimile of a different note mounted on the same backing measuring 6.1 x 14.2 cm. The facsimiled note was written in Mount Vernon, Virginia, and instructs the cashier to pay William Robb $75. Entire backing including both notes measures 14.5 x 16.6 cm.

Writes to his brother, then a Virginia congressman, about advocating for Madison's resolutions (in favor of a policy of commercial retaliation against European powers) in an election. The comment that the resolutions, which Madison submitted to Congress in December 1793, were "attached to the British nation" alludes to Madison's position that President Washington's 1793 proclamation of neutrality in the conflict between Britain and France unwisely showed indifference to the French movement toward republicanism. Also discusses the growing unpopularity of the excise tax and urges its repeal.…

Initial letter was written by Francis Taliaferro Brooke, a judge on the Virginia Supreme Court to Monroe as Secretary of State requesting a recommendation for a naval position for Dr. Benjamin D. Russel. Brooke said Russel's health was damaged during his work as a surgeon of militia in the War of 1812 and that he was ordered to breathe sea air to recover it. Asks Monroe to oblige this experiment. On verso over address, Monroe endorses the request to the Secretary of the Navy. Initialed "JM" after his endorsement.

Mrs. Wilkes discusses her meetings with President Lincoln, Secretary of Navy Gideon Welles, Secretary of State William Seward, Senator Isaac Arnold, and General John Sedgwick in trying to get her husband's rank of commodore reinstated (it had been annulled according to this letter). Wilkes was disrated (becoming a captain on the retired list) in November 1862, on the ground that he had been too old to receive the rank of commodore under the act then governing promotions. Washington acknowledges receiving the letter from Colonel George Morgan, and discussing "affairs to the westward." McIntosh, who had mortally wounded Button Gwinnett in a duel, commanded Fort Pitt from May 1778 until March 5, 1779. His subordinates Daniel Broadhead and Morgan complained of his conduct. Washington writes that residence with McIntosh at Valley Forge had impressed him and he hoped the Georgian would be disinterested in western disputes.
