Discusses politics, "You ask me if I think that Kentucky and Ohio will go for [Henry] Clay. You may depend upon it that every state in the West, except Tennessee, and possibly Illinois, will go for him." States "the Jackson Party is defeated here and can never rally again," but says that he has seen this misrepresented in the newspapers.
