Describes his sightings of noted politicians staying at his hotel such as President Fillmore, congressmen, and others; visiting with friends; expresses wanting to visit Central Park, and Greenwood Cemetery. Mentions that on his way back from Brooklyn in a omnibus they were stopped by a police officer because there "was about thirty thousand 'Wide Awakes'" that were parading with banners and torches. Also attached as a note expressing his wishes to buy a place in New York.
