He says it will be very demanding and will require a lot of time away from home but says the decision is up to her.

Moe writes that he received a card from the Red Cross telling him Anne Levine had made a donation in his honor. He doesn't know quite how to take this information. He notes that it has been nine years since he first entered the army. He has wonderful memories of coming into town on furlough and of Sylvia's visits. He says the separation has only deepened their love for one another.
