Colonel David Humphreys, an aide-de-camp of General George Washington, writes that a Captain Moody [likely Captain Andrew Moodie] applied to Head Quarters to encamp his company and proposed temporary annexation of, and encampment with, the 2nd Regiment Artillery. General Washington had no problem with the plan, but wanted to clear these sorts of proposals through department heads, so Moody was referred to Knox.
