Reminisces about past events and battles of the war in which the armies participated, including the famous march from Atlanta to Savannah. References Beardslee's letter of 4 December, which contained information on the effects of Commander Morris, late of the captured steamer CSS "Florida." The items were scattered about the cabin of the ship. Welles makes reference to several good will gestures Morris made before he was captured and gives permission for the items to be returned. Title: [Affadavit for sworn statement of Andrew Jackson concerning money owed Pierce Butler]

An affidavit of Jackson's sworn statement that Pierce Butler was rightly owed money by David Allison and William Blount. Jackson was acting as Butler's lawyer in the case. The money owed was part of a land speculation plan that involved all four of the men. Allison had lost a great deal of money in land speculation, and had also lost a good deal of money for Blount, leaving both men indebted to Butler. Jackson was also involved in some of these land speculation schemes himself.
