Has recently returned from the Waldo patent lands. Relates that most of the people seem happy with the arrangements they worked out about living on the land. Discusses his interactions with Captain [George] Ulmer and Colonel [possibly Daniel] Shute. Mentions that he is pleased with the work of Captain [Thomas] Vose, their agent in the patent. Comments on the proceedings of the General Court regarding the Waldo patent, and the case being brought against them by a Mr. Brown. Describes the quality of the settlers on the lands. Plans to spend "the whole of the next season at the patent."…
