Includes forged signatures of John Adams and John Hancock pasted onto the inside of the front board. Some receipts included are written to Treat & Pico, others to Joshua Pico. Items/services bought and sold include oil, rent of property, schooling of children, molasses, codfish, and hog staves, among various others. Most receipts are written in Boston. Contains various signatures of persons conducting business with Pico.

Title: [Watercolor depicting a naval engagement between French and British ships]

Portrays an engagement between the ships La Blanche and La Pare. Shows sailors from both sides engaged in battle and falling into the water. Artist's name is obscured, possibly due to water damage. Other writing on the document is also lost due to water damage. Dates are inferred from information pertaining to two British ships named Blanche; one was built in 1786 and wrecked in 1799, and the other was created in 1800 and captured by the French in 1805.

States that the American forces were to have been under the command of former Governor of Virginia, Alexander Spotswood, since deceased. Accompanied by a paper seal.

The second payment of 450 pounds on 24 February 1779 was an advance for wages and bookbinders work.
