Mentions family and says she heard from their sister Kate that their father and sister Anna made it home safely. Says their father went to Baltimore to see him the last time he was there, but it seems they did not meet. Letter is faded with water damage and what seems to be mold.

Says that women only join with those men for position, money, or a home for herself.
