Reports that Benedict Arnold, "the Rebel General," is to take command in Connecticut and that he is expected to leave from West Point to go to New Haven daily. Asks Chew to send spies to watch his travels. On verso is a note dated 19 June by Chew stating that he has sent two men in the direction given by Major Andre and details what they will be paid for the service.

Provides list of expenses for the poor transient William Quirk, including room and board and "sundry articles." From docket the cost appears to be slighty over 15 pounds. Brattle says "I apprehend the charges reasonable." Note provided by the selectman says Quirk was from Newfoundland and arrived in their town under "Indigent Circumustances." Has heard a report that the recipient has received a letter from Doctor Griffith stating that Lee, following his court martial, was persuaded "by some members of Congress to embarrass General Washington." Wishes to know if any such letter really came from Griffith, and assures the recipient that no such events actually happened. Wonders if General Thomas Conway is somehow involved in these affairs. Though the Conway Cabal was over, Conway continued his personal attacks on Washington long afterward.

Also provides numbers for each rank in those three states. The 15 November 1780 totals are for Major General Alexander Leslie's Corps. During the time covered in this report, Cornwallis won the Camden Campaign and lost the Battle of King's Mountain, both in South Carolina.

James Henry Craig, Adjunct General James Wilkinson, and Brig. Gen. William Whipple. Contains the 13 terms of surrender that General John Burgoyne accepted from General Horatio Gates.
