Monroe, James, 1758-1831
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Henry Knox
Discusses a situation in which he was charged more for furniture than he expected. Mr. [Tench] Coxe loaned him money to cover the extra charges. Writes that he is now in Williamsburg "convened with several other gentlm in the revision of the laws of the state." Thus occupied, he needs Knox's help with repaying Coxe (Monroe had written Coxe a note, but it expired before Coxe cashed it).
