Discusses the progress of the survey work being conducted in various towns across Maine. Believes it will be safe enough for the surveyors to complete their work this fall. Notes his health and business will keep him from participating in the surveying. Also mentions he does not believe his brother, Philip Ulmer, will be able to help with surveying but they have eight men to finish surveying in Jackson and Lincoln, Maine which he feels is sufficient.
