Several Northport citizens came to Knowlton, Nesmith, and the other authors (who are the town's assessors) to set up a meeting about Knox's ownership. To get them the owner or owners must make an oath that the vessel and the cargo are the property of citizens of the United States. Also, the captain, officers, and most of the crew must be United States citizens. Upon completion of this he can help them get the proper paperwork.
