Title: [Field orders for General Joseph Wheeler's Cavalry harassing Sherman near Atlanta]
Confederate army. "When marching, or arriving at a fork of the road, or any point where it is possible for a command to mistake the route, the commanding officer of each regiment, will leave a courier to inform the commanding officer who follows, the road taken by preceding troops. The courier will then rejoin his own command. This is particularly necessary during night marches."
