Knox is sorry his business took up so much of his time that he couldn't enjoy the Judge's company. Writes: "We have nothing here but the same dull round of the rise & setting sun. No objects to amuse hope, except the uncertainty of the time when we shall be ordered to depart." Asks Howe to order two men serving under him, Phineas Austin and Robert Cormach, to travel to Boston by the first of September. The document provides evidence from 3 different individuals regarding Hillegard van Slichtenhorst, who became pregnant out of wedlock. The child's father, Peter Lund, refused to marry van Slichtenhorst. The first testimony was given by Anne Davenport, who stated that when she asked Lund why he would not marry van Slichtenhorst to preserve her honor, he replied that he could not marry her after the city magistrates termed her a whore and put her in jail. The Court of Mayor and Aldermen declares that it has come to their attention that a great many people have violated orders prohibiting trade with Indians at Albany. The new order states that such practices have led to disturbances in the area, and states that a fine will be imposed upon anyone caught trading fur with Indians in Albany.
