This document is a mezzotint depicting King George III. Three names are associated with the making of this print. The first, which is noted in the lower left corner of the engraving, is T. Frye. The note next to his name reads "ad vivum delineavit", which in Latin translates to "vividly depicted [by]". Frye is the artist who originally drew the portrait of King George III. The second name is noted in the lower right corner and reads "W. Panther fecit", which translates to "made [by]". This refers to the engraved plate of the print, which was made by Panther but copied off of T. Frye's…

Title: Justice the issue! Shall Sacco and Vanzetti be judicially murdered?

This document is a printed broadside put out by the Sacco-Vanzetti Defense Committee which attacks the exclusive judgment of Judge Webster Thayer and says in part: "The issue is not only for Massachusetts. It is for America. The world will judge American ideals of justice on this case." Dating based on mention of an execution date of 10 July, but they were actually executed on 23 August 1927. With imprint of Allied Printing Tades Council, Boston.

Hanging prosperity on the fluctuating counsels and caprices of others renders it wise... to turn seriously to manufactures.... The Indians north of the Ohio have hitherto continued their little depredations, but we are in daily expectation of hearing of the success of a first excursion [i.e., Gen. Where is Stoneman? A. Lincoln." (In full) Authenticator Joe Nichols believes this letter was written on military stationery and then trimmed to its current size at a later time.

List of prisoners on front, with place of imprisonment, endorsed on verso by Lincoln. At the bottom of the list is a note of congressman Brutus J. Clay, requesting the discharge of the above. Lincoln orders the discharge of nine soldiers upon taking oath, and a discharge for William Yocum "not as a prisoner of war, but for an offence for which he has perhaps suffered enough...." Yokum, an employee in charge of contrabands (escaped slaves) at Cairo, Ill., had been sentenced to five years hard labor for "aiding in the kidnapping of employees of the U.S." (quoting Basler 7: 167 note).…
