Secretary of State Monroe indicates that, in response to the British leaving Baltimore after the Battle of Baltimore, the orders for the Pennsylvania militia were being revised. They are now ordered to protect Philadelphia against a potential attack. Mentions his hope that the successful Battle of Plattsburgh will relieve British pressure on the Eastern frontier. Snyder was the Pennsylvania governor.

This collection consists of 40 photographs of Native Americans taken by Joseph K. Dixon, a prominent photographer, filmmaker, and champion of Native Americans. Probably taken in the period from 1908-1920, all of these prints were retained for Dixon's personal collection. These photographs include individual portraits (both full and half length), processions, group gatherings, and other scenes. Details of Native American dress are clearly visible in these photographs, and the scenery in which they have been photographed is often remarkable. While most of the Native Americans depicted here…

Writes to his godmother about fighting the Comanche Indians in Oklahoma. Notes his successful recovery from a "severe ordeal." Comments that "Indian warfare is not the most glorious in the world, hard fighting after riding miles and miles through the hot sun...and getting but little if any, glory." He does enjoy the life apart from the warfare. Comments on the hunting and fishing, and his horses (one a captured Comanche pony). Indicates that he will soon go to Camp Cooper, 115 miles south of Camp Radziminski, from where he writes this letter.
