In return, Beckford signs that he received from Lovett $220. Note on reverse signed by Lovett. Lovett was a privateer ship merchant and captain in Beverly, Massachusetts. He served as the agent for the prizes captured by the Pilgrim.

The Continental Loan Offices administered loans to the Continental Treasury to help finance the war effort. Hillegas was the Treasurer of the United States. He signed as Continental Treasurer. Clarke was the Commissioner of the Continental Loan Office in Rhode Island.

Contains the copied signatures of Henry Ward, Rhode Island Secretary of State, and Theodore Foster, Providence Town Clerk. Ward confirms that Flagg is to replace Mr. Perkins, because Perkins was ordered to George Washington's headquarters. Contains resolves of the State of Rhode Island "and Providence Plantation" issued 26 June 1781 instructing Perkins to leave certain stores for use by the militia. Foster had signed as witness to the resolves.
