[cousin]. Flora is playfully upset with Miller for not writing recently, charging that she wrote to him last, and that it was several weeks ago that she sent the letter in question. However, she quickly darkens the tone of her prose. Flora is thoroughly disillusioned with the war. "I will take your advice and never mar(r)y" she writes. She relates the death that surrounds her, and her disgust. "This wretched war, when will it cease?" He urges Miller to make sure that he will be better qualified than other officers, for even if some were of lower rank, they could still be promoted over his head. To this end, he suggests that Miller take to his books, and study military tactics. On the reverse of the letter, Augustus notes: "Alie had as well go to study too, if he ever expects to be anything but a private." Written in the Georgia State House of Representatives.

However, it does not match the handwriting of another of Miller's sisters, M. Y. Wright.
