Letter is signed by Henry Knox, Joseph Copeland, and John Gleason as a witness. Appears to be an agreement between Henry Knox and Joseph Copeland regarding Knox's Eastern lands. Knox complains about people cutting his timber on the Warren lands and requests Copeland's assistance. Asks Joseph Copeland to find evidence and prosecute the trespassers. There is a note with Copeland's signature agreeing to Knox's request. A portion of the letter is a duplicate of GLC02437.07498.

Includes details of the features and boundaries of the land. Docket notes, "Transmitted by Charles Vaughan Esq. in a letter dated Hampden 25 June 1801..."

Noted as a copy on the docket. Document is unsigned but appears to be in Knox's handwriting. Appears to be an agreement allowing Israel [Thorndale] to "enter" and "take hold" of a tract of land located in the back of Hampden, Maine (north of the Waldo patent). Includes details on the size of the land and the terms of the mortgage. Henry Knox, Henry Jackson, and Benjamin Lincoln's names are noted on the second page. There is a note at the bottom of letter says "The same to Benjamin [Pickman]."

Appears to be an official statement of events that took place in the county of Hancock, Maine. An informant reported there was a large gathering of armed men who intended to head to [Cartine?], Maine to release the prisoners. The informant reports the group of men were armed with muskets, bayonets, knapsacks, and swords and were trying to recruit followers and threatening those who refused to join them. Date was added at a later date in pen. There is a note written from George Ulmer on the bottom of the letter dated the same day stating Seobey made a solemn oath to the truth of his testimony.

Noted as a copy. Appears to be discussing an encounter he had with a "hellish gang" and reports on the information he learned. Mentions he was unwillingly "anisiated" [initiated?] this day into the "Diabolical Lodge" by one of the members of that society. Comments Elmore's and the others (likely the surveyors) lives are "very much exposed." Reports the people called "Liberty men" near the Waldo patent are gathering with the intention of releasing the prisoners and stopping the surveying. Notes the men received legal council and were told if they took 101 men it could not be called a riot.…

Lists charges to Knox's account from Indian treaties. Total amounts to $3,479.39 ¼. Two notes. First dated 12 November. States "I certify that the above Acct. is a True Copy the original of which is filed on Record in this Office." Second dated 16 November. States "In addition to my Certificate of this date, I further Certify that that Balance of Three thousand four hundred and seventy six Dollars 39¼/100 has been accounted for by the Secretary of War as appear by Auditor Statement No. 1756 dated Nov. 16. 1791."
