Wright, Augustus Romaldus, 1813-1891
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Miller A. Wright
Augustus warns Miller about the promotion process in the military. He urges Miller to make sure that he will be better qualified than other officers, for even if some were of lower rank, they could still be promoted over his head. To this end, he suggests that Miller take to his books, and study military tactics. On the reverse of the letter, Augustus notes: "Alie had as well go to study too, if he ever expects to be anything but a private." Written in the Georgia State House of Representatives.
