Attempting to clarify news of the raid on Harpers Ferry. States the previous days news was unclear as to the specifics of the events, and gives new details available. John Brown, "the hero of numberless border skirmishes in Kansas," attacked Harpers Ferry as revenge against Pro-Slavery forces. His band comprised twelve white men and a "considerable number of negroes" who had been "pressed into service." Written two days after the end of the Harpers Ferry Raid.
