An unknown Union soldier named George writes to his friends back home. Starts by saying they have just had a march in order to catch a rebel force at Strasburg, Virginia. "Milroy sent our regt 116th several companies of cavalry, 4 pieces of artillery to drive them out and sent a large cavalry force out the other way to cut off their retreat." Mentions being sent out on another march where they covered 28 miles in one day. Comments on having to make pontoon bridges of wagons and planks to cross a river. Signed by Bateman, but document appears to have been written by Andrew Leishman.

Receipt written by Captain Titcomb for moving his company of 53 men. The company was in Colonel Jacob Garrish's regiment. Titcomb's men were stationed at Winter Hill, which is outside Boston, to guard the Convention Army, which consisted of captured British soldiers from the Saratoga Campaign. His men are being paid mileage. 27 of his men marched from Winter Hill to Amesbury, which is 50 miles, and received over 16 pounds. 26 of his men marched from Rowley to Amesbury, a distance of 35 miles, and received over 11 pounds. Signed by Chapman and six other members of the company of Captain Oliver Titcomb. They were in Colonel Jacob Garrish's regiment. Receipts asks Titcomb for payment of their wages of over 28 pounds. Signed note by Chapman on verso states he received the wages. Dated 9 June 1778 in Amesbury, which is spelled "Almesbury" by Chapman.

Ledger of payments from the town of Newburyport to Samuel Tufts. The payments began on 10 February 1778 and ended on 24 September 1778 and was for a total of over 182 pounds. The town mostly purchased clothing from Tufts. He signed the document, apparently stating he received the funds.
