Letter is not signed but based on the content it appears to be from Knox. Informs Gleason he will be heading to Boston, Massachusetts and needs Gleason to look after things in Thomaston while he is gone. Stresses the importance of keeping the mills manned by the best men, the lime, and the quantity of casks he would like burnt. Advises Gleason on planting and asks Gleason to visit the farm daily. Mentions the repairs he would like completed on his house before his return along with various other details he wants completed.
