Reference's Knox's letter of 8 February. Is glad William Bingham has arrived in Philadelphia so quickly. Believes that he will make a compromise with Madame Leval, as she is now with him in Philadelphia. When negotiating with her, tells Knox to remember the sacrifice they made to sell her Trenton, Maine land for 25 cents per acre. Says it has been "an unpleasant connection from the begining [sic]."
