Ink inscription on recto "GO." Imprint on recto "Lieut Gen Winfield Scott. Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1862, by Chas. D. Fredricks & Co., in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York." Photographers imprint on verso: "This picture of Lieut Gen Winfield Scott was made at West Point, N.Y. June 10, 1862. The subscribers claim that, for correctness of portraiture, finish and detail, it is pre-eminently the best portrait of the Great American Military Chieftan. Chas. D. Fredricks & Co., 587 Broadway, New York."
