Longman, Thomas, 1731-1797
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Henry Knox
Indicates that he enclosed an order for books. Reports that Thomas Boydston's bill against Lane & Co. has been credited to Knox's account. Discusses a complaint made by other booksellers that Knox is undercutting their prices, and is able to do so because of favorable treatment by Longman, which Longman denies. Indicates that he is sending Knox four trunks and a case of books, which have been bound in canvass because of the rising cost of leather. Longman was a London bookseller.
