Moe writes that he likes what he has seen so far and wishes he could share the experience with Sylvia. He also asks after Joe.

Moe apologizes for not writing earlier as he been too busy playing Gin Rummy and doing small tasks. He says he has been to a movie and a variety show so far.

Moe is finally able to tell Sylvia that he is now in England. He notes that Marty received a letter from Olga and he was a little jealous but knows mail from her is forthcoming. He says she would love England.

Moe visualizes an autumn evening at home with Sylvia. He says he and Marty watch each other write letters to see who writes more.

Moe sent Sylvia a cable telling her he arrived safely. He declares that he will be worried until he hears from her, and hopes that she is not taking things too badly.

Moe writes that he and Marty are going to have a beer, and that he is still upset that he hasn't received a letter from Sylvia yet.

Moe apologizes for not writing Sylvia as much as he has been getting acquainted with England at government expense. He is still anxiously waiting for mail from her.

Moe writes that it feels strange to keep writing Sylvia without having received any mail from her. He reports that gin game continues to go on with Marty.

Moe finally visited town with his fellow soldiers. He went to Gloucester and Salisbury and stayed in a hotel dating back to Richard II. He also visited cathedrals and promises that they will experience it together one day.
