Moe spent the day cleaning and unloading the trailer. He is glad Sylvia is not letting her family get to her.

Moe is staying in a hotel because he got an overnight pass into town. He responds to Sylvia's letters and thanks her for the sketch of their living room as it really made him feel like he was home.

Moe's roommates are on a date so he is free to write to Sylvia. He said they have not yet given out ratings in their platoon, but when they do he hopes he will be made a T-4. He believes more soldiers should be educated as to what this war is about.

Moe is still in town, he went out to eat and met a nice couple. They went to the movies together.

It is Memorial Day and they have been given the day off. Moe used the time to rest and to write to Sylvia. He comments that she is becoming quite the executive, herself.

Moe writes that he has to learn to nurse his salary until the end of the month. He also mentions that there is not much to do now and they are just marking time.

Moe writes that he heard a song they have sung many times together; "There's a Long, Long Trail Awinding."

Moe doesn't think the drawing Joe made of Sylvia looks much like her. He is still awaiting the ratings for his platoon. He agrees that Mad should get a divorce, and mentions that he is annoyed by Hy and Ann.

Moe is writing from the Red Cross Recreation Center, but he will be moving soon. This letter is missing pages.
