Title: Two 1934 poll tax receipts from Travis County, Texas [Decimalized .01-.02]

Two poll tax receipts from Travis County, Texas dated December 11, 1934. The receipts are for the payment of a one dollar seventy five cent poll tax paid by Mr and Mrs. Max Bickler. They are signed by A.W. Grubble, Deputy and Karl H. Schmidt Tax collector. The receipt also lists the payee's age, occupation and skin complexion. On the rear of the receipt the dates the payee voted are stamped.

One newspaper clipping sent by Mrs. E.M. Stouffer to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated January 25, 1945. The clipping features three men in sailor's uniforms standing next to a bus talking to W.A.V.E.S inside. The caption reads, "The Early Bird Gets The Chicks. Beating their buddies to the punch, three sailors angle for dates with a newly -arrived contingent of WAVES. There were more than 200 Navy gals in this first large group to hit Hawaii. When the WAVES disembarked a Navy band was on hand to say "Aloha."" One sailor was labeled "Leonard." There is no indication of the newspaper the clipping was…
