Lesley Herrmann
Lesley S. Herrmann was the first executive director of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, where she served for twenty-two years. She holds a PhD in Slavic languages and literature from Columbia University and started studying American history at Columbia University in 1994. Herrmann now teaches Russian literature at the CUNY Graduate Center in their Peer Learning Program (LP2) and serves on the LP2 board. She is also a guide at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
