One letter from Dottie Erickson to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated November 29, 1943. Dottie compliments Leonard on his mother, she called his house and they spoke for a while, she also stopped by to see Susan earlier in the day. She belatedly introduced herself, and gave Leonard her address. Natalie thinks it is funny they had lived so close to each other but hadn't met until Leonard was on leave. Ray Wolverton has been in the Great Lakes Naval Training Station hospital with a catarral fever of 104 degrees. If Leonard is unable to visit or find Ray at the hospital he should write her and she will find information on where he is. She is on the night shift but work is slow so she is writing a few letters. She comments on how exciting it must have been to see the Notre Dame Great lakes football game.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
