At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

The letter is addressed to Davis. Nellie tried to contact Rod, but he has left for "Meunich." She traveled through Rome and got travel sick and took anti-histamines. She hasn't had any trouble since and thinks it might have just been a bug, but the doctor said she had an ulcer. She is enjoying Egypt and finds it especially beautiful.
