A plea is made for pocket bibles for soldiers in "Pocket Bibles for the Soldiers Wanted." A soldier's letter describes the Pocotaligo fight to his family. "Army Correspondence" prints another soldier's letter describing incidents on Morris Island. "Secular News" section includes the death of General Gregg at Fredericksburg, General Foster at North Carolina, and General Floyd at Prestonburg.
