Explains that settling and clearing new land is a difficult endeavor that requires fortitude, and hopes the settlers will be able to accomplish it.

Knox assures Thomas this is due to misunderstandings, and that he has the settlers best interests in mind. Hopes that Thomas can persuade them of this fact. If not, the government will be forced to quell the violence. Also discusses issues regarding the boundaries of his lands, the mistakes made by surveyors…
