Document in Shaw's hand, and signed by him for Henry Knox. Knox ordered grape shot and three pound balls from Faesch (spelled "Feash" in this document). Faesch signed 31 December 1778 at Mount Hope Furnace. Knox signs 20 February 1779 at Pluckemin, noting that the grape shot and cannon balls are "agreeable to the orders of His Excellency."

Informs Colonel Wadsworth that William Richards, commissary of stores at Litchfield, Connecticut, intends to retire (malpractice charges were filed against Richards, see GLC02437.01110). Richards hopes to be able to remain in Connecticut, and Shaw solicits Wadsworth's recommendation on Richards's behalf. Written at camp near Dobbs Ferry.

Written by Major Shaw as aide-de-camp to Brigadier General Henry Knox to Major Bauman. Says that "Immediately on receipt of this letter Gen Knox desires you to set out in order to meet him at this place." Tells him to provide himself with clothes for a command of considerable length of time. Says Knox is very anxious for his arrival, which should be before sunset tonight. GLC02437.01145 is Bauman's response to this letter.

Title: to Cornelius Vandenburgh

Communicates order from General Henry Knox for Vandenburgh to guard listed pieces of ordnance on the way to Christiana. If he is not relieved then, he is to take the ordnance to an officer at Head of Elk. Artificers will accompany the pieces in case there is a need for repair. The supplies were going down the Washington-Rochambeau route southward toward Yorktown. Shaw was aide-de-camp to Knox. Vandenburgh was a captain in the 14th Regiment of the Albany County Militia.

David Day, an artillery officer from Connecticut, who served from 7 October 1778 to 8 October 1781, is discharged from service of the Continental Army in accordance with the terms of his enlistment. Ordered by General Henry Knox. A certification of Day's service is written and signed on the verso by Captain T[homas] Patten at Yorktown on 7 October 1781. This discharge occurred during the siege of Yorktown.

Nelson was late of the artillery and was detained by the sickness of his wife. Docket is signed by Nelson and a C. Brandy stating that contractors delivered the rations.
