Title: [Scammon endorsement on a telegram from J. Parke]
Telegram to Brigadier General Scammon in which Parke states that he is "innocent of having given aid & comfort to the Rebels." Asks for an immediate trial. With pencil note from Scammon (possibly in his hand) asking Parke "Did you not negotiate or aid in the sending of funds to Baltimore for the benefit of a person in arms vs. the U.S. If not, and you are a loyal citizen of the U.S. you shall be released at once." On stationary of the U.S. Military Telegraph. Year inferred from Scammon's rank as Brigadier General.
