[Note about pins]

One note dated 1863-1865 by Oscar Calkins. Note states that the Masonic pin, formerly attached, was his fathers and it got him out of Libby Prison by a rebel Masonic officer. Instead of bring in the prison he was sent to Richmond to get a job.

[Two Civil War-era pins belonging to Oscar Calkins]

Two steel pins belonging to Oscar Calkins. One pin is a Masonic badge attached to a note. Note states that the pin was taken from a soldier once they were taken to Libby Prison. The second is a corps badge with Oscar Calkins's name.
