The installation will include Washington Dodge’s handwritten eyewitness account of the ship’s sinking; a bronze medal presented to Arthur Rostron, captain of the Carpathia, for his heroic rescue of Titanic survivors; a Marié miniature depicting a survivor, Mrs. John Borland Thayer, whose husband died on the Titanic, but whose son survived; and a photographic portrait of Isidor Straus, owner of H.R. Macy & Co., and his wife, Ida, who perished together.
